Guest Houses
The Institute has three guest houses within the campus. The guest houses are located on the western side of the National Highway (NH66), near the beach (Arabian Sea). They are named as JCBose, Vikram Sarabhai and Homi J Bhaba. J C Bose Guest house furnished with A/C Suites with a telephone, TV and Internet connections in each room. VIPs, Institute guests and invited guests are accommodated here. The Vikram Sarabhai and Homi J Baba Guest House have A/C, telephone and TV connections in each rooms.

Staff Quarters
Residential campus is made up of Quarters for faculties and staff equipped with all modern amenities. Director's Bungalow, Professors & Asst. professors quarters, Lectures & Asst. lectures quarters, Warden quarters, Bachelors quarters and Non-teaching staff colony has been separately developed.

Sports Facilities
A full-fledged Physical Education & Sports Department with one Students’ Activity and Sports Officer (SAS Officer) and one Assistant Physical Director provides and manages sports, games and physical fitness facilities.

*    400 Mt. Track (1) surrounded by Pavilion

*    International Standard Swimming Pool (1) with diving arena.

*    Well maintained grounds of Football, Volleyball, Handball, Hockey, Kho-kho, Kabaddi and Cricket. (1 each)

*    Basketball Courts (equipped with floodlight) (2) surrounded by pavilion.

*    Lawn Tennis Court (4)

Indoor Sports:

*    Modern Gymnasium (1) (Boys’ and Girls’ Separate)

*    Well-equipped Badminton Court (4) (Wooden and Cement)

*    Table Tennis playing arena with International Standard Tables. (5)

* A new and modern Sports Complex is under construction with modern facilities and amenities.

Swimming Pool
International Standard, 50 Mts. x 25 Mts. Size, with 90 Cm. depth at shallow end and 5 Mts. depth at deeper end. 3 Platforms of 1 Mt., 3 Mts. and 5 Mts height for Diving, and One Spring Board fitted at 1 Mt. height for Diving. Anti wave Lane markers to conduct competitions is also provided. Take off Boards are portable. Fiber of Olympic type is fitted. It has the capability to accommodate 150 to 200 people at a time.

Post Office
One post office is available in the Institute campus.

Shopping Centers
Two shopping centers are exists in the campus where bakery, vegetable shop, cloth shop, tailoring, saloon, beauty parlor, laundry, printing press, provisional store etc are available.

Banks
Two banks (Canara bank and State bank of India) with ATM facility are available in the campus.

Open Air Theatre (Students Activity Centre)
One open Air theatre of about 1000 seating capacity is available.

Silver Jubilee Auditorium (SJA)
One Auditorium of about 1,200 seating capacity is available (is being fully air-conditioned)

One Kannada Medium (State Board) and one English medium (CBSE board) schools are function in the campus.

Canteens
Two canteens and three-four small cafeterias are available.

Location

NITK lies on the coastal belt of Karnataka, on the National Highway 66, at about 22 kms from Mangalore towards Udupi. It lies close to Mangalore International AirportMangalore Railway Station and the Mangalore Port. Bus Routes from Mumbai, Goa and Bangalore ( that terminate at Udupi-Manipal) pass through the College and visitors can disembark right away.

• All Service/Express Buses starting from Mangalore Bus Stand and going towards Udupi or Karkala, stop at NITK Main Building.
• A number of Private Taxis also available at MangaloreNITK is 21 Kms. from Mangalore on the northern side on National Highway No.66.

• Passengers alighting at Surathkal station can engage auto rickshaws that will take them to the college 2 kms from the Station for Rs.40/-.
