Remedial Coaching Classes

Remedial Coaching classes are conducted for students with less exposure to good academics and for those from poor background. These classes are specially conducted for students of first year B.Tech course. A faculty each from the respective department is identified and a specific day of the week is identified for the respective subject after class hours. This practice helps the needy students from the first year to get adapted to the demanding academic environment of the Institute. The faculty coordinates the course and is assisted by student tutors from the third and final year of B.Tech course and other PG/PhD courses. Thus, the young students of higher semesters also get exposure to teaching early on. Over a period of time, it has been observed that not only the amount of failure in subjects is reduced to a great extent among the entry level students, but also the number of drop outs is reduced because of an early academic and moral support, especially for students from backward areas of India.

Hindi Section of the Institute

The institute has a Hindi section which is headed by Dr. Ashwini Chaturvedi as Hindi Officer (Rajbhasha Adhikari). Some of the activities taken up for propagating the use of Hindi for official purpose are:

- Purchase of Hindi learning books
-  Helping various departments/sections of the institute in making letterhead, rubber stamps and Department signposts in bilingual form.

Professional Skill Enhancement Programme

Each Summer, the Institute organises Professional Skill Enhancement Programme for students from Scheduled Castes, and scheduled Tribes. The programme, conducted for two weeks, aims at the overall personality development of students from these categories. This course also functions as a kind of Finishing School for students who would be placed on a better platform for campus placements that ensues immediately thereafter. Dr. B.M. Doddamani is coordinating the current batch of the Programme.
